Welcome To J.A.I.L. (Juries Against Illegal Laws Inc.)
Juries Against Illegal Laws is a citizens rights association formed in October 2008 to defend Australian families against illegal laws and oppressive government law-enforcement practices.
Juries Against Illegal Laws defends Australian families as the fundamental building block of Australian society, and defends family members as individuals, including children, women, men, biological-parents step-parents and grand-parents.
We are an entirely independent and non-government funded organisation.
We rely on private donations, volunteers, and sponsorship from corporations and individuals to carry out our vital work of educating, publicising, protesting and challenging these illegal laws.
Our mission is to impress on Australia's State and Federal Governments the necessity that our laws and our lawyers, government agencies and policies and forces relating to families comply with constitutional, national and international human rights laws (including equal rights for all to receive due process and equality under the law regardless of gender, class, race or personal distinctions.
Where necessary to protect our supporters or other members of the public, we resort to litigation to compel our Governments to act constitutionally, to act within their constitutional limits, and to refrain from violating our fundamental constitutional rights and freedoms as families and as citizens, communities and human beings.
Our Campaigns and Class Actions
On 4 February 2010 we launched two hundred million dollar ($200,000,000) Federal constitutional class action proceedings against illegal State family violence laws in Tasmania. Near identical class action proceedings are planned soon for every other State and Territory.
Short of getting a majority of Australians approve of a referendum to alter the Australian Constitution (which will almost certainly not happen), there is nothing that the Australian or State Governments can do to stop these class actions proceeding.
Click here to register your interest in becoming a claimant in these class order proceedings.
We encourage everyone who has been directly or indirectly affected by a State or Territory family violence order or court judgement to contact us to register your interest in joining the Tasmanian class action (if applicable) or to register as a participant in one of these upcoming class actions.
Typical claims will be in the range of $3,000,000 to $5,000,000 (or more) for each applicant/victim.
By the time the Tasmanian proceedings go to trial, we expect that the total value of compensation claims will be counted in hundreds of millions of dollars, and could easily exceed a trillion dollars ($1,000,000,000,000).By the time all of these class order proceedings go to trial in every States and Territory of Australia, we expect the total value of compensation claims will be counted in multiples of trillions of dollars and could easily exceed ten trillion dollars ($10,000,000,000,000).
